The only photos from my last shoot where I don't look depressed

Hey guys, so this is my final look from the shoot I did with David Mendolia! As I said before the things that I wore I'd just bought within the past couple days (besides accessories & shoes). When I saw this shirt I knew that I had to have it because I'm in love with very simple loose fitting things like this so I just had to get it even though it was a size XL (later that night i shortened the straps with a sewing kit).

American Eagle tank / BDG silk & velvet skirt / Minnetonka Moccasin black knee high lace-ups / assorted accessories

Although I don't own/wear very much girly type dresses or skirts unless they're maxi I still love having them! They can usually brighten up or upgrade any outfit, it's just difficult getting me to sit like a lady in them usually. Well I hope you enjoyed this blog post! xo

I think I see a circus freak under that bridge!

So this was probably my least favorite of the outfits just because it was the least planned out and the most boring (at least in my opinion). However, I figured i'd show it anyways because he took the time to shoot it and I like the jacket.

My best friend Angela actually convinced me to buy this blazer because I was pretty iffy about it, but she convinced me that I would be able to pull it off. I enjoy the fact that it's so odd and I probably won't find this same jacket again, and especially with the very cool buttons that are on it!

I still have yet to wear this blazer because the weather hasn't allowed it but here are some ideas for what I'll pair it with!
  • outfit one:  black loose tank, pleather leggings, red Toms, floral scarf.
  • outfit two: black bodycon American Apparel skirt, pop of color tank, black knee high Minnetonka Moccasins.
Hope you enjoyed the post! xo

In case you were wondering...

So a lot of the time I will find myself wondering what some of my favorite bloggers/fashion inspiration are buying when a new season hits or there's lots of sales and although I doubt I'm anyone's favorite blogger I thought I'd tell you guys!

Lately i've been doing a lot of consignment shopping with my best friend, Angela and also shopping for graduation ceremony stuff (not pictured yet). Here is what I've bought in just this weekend...

Left to right: teal & orange scarf / snakeskin Aerosole driving shoes / navy blue beaded moccasins / maroon American Apparel bodycon skirt / black & gold skull oversized tee / wishbone necklace / black lace bra / turtle tie-dye tee / leather rose bracelet (Not pictured here: vintage ring / Samero, Sons of Anarchy tee / Dad's old cross earring / turquoise heart earrings)

quite a bit for a very little amount of money...

 Up close:

I got this necklace partly because I had to spend my credit at Heartbreaker but also because I love that it's so simple unlike most necklaces I own.

Also new: ring on the far left / tee I'm wearing

I'm showing this bra because although it's just a simple black bra I love stuff like this because the lace makes it cute enough where I feel comfortable showing off the sides of it in an oversized cut up tank (although most people probably wouldn't).

I stole the idea of the cross as a cartilage piercing from a friend when I saw that my dad still had this old earring from way back in the 90's & Angela even pierced it herself!

Hope you enjoyed this post! xo

I know it's been a while... but!

I'm sorry that it's been a while since I've posted but I've been really busy with moving/graduating/signing up for school and plus I was feeling like it didn't really matter because this blog hasn't been noticed very much... But I will continue to use it anyways because I like posting!

So I did a shoot on monday (memorial day) with the lovely david mendolia and my best friend, angela. I decided that morning that I wanted to do a shoot so it was extremely impromptu so it revolved around what I was wearing, and what I'd very recently bought! Here is the first look that we did (and I will include the other two in my next posts).

So me & angela made these lovely tie-dye shirts the other day and I made two so I decided to switch one of them up a little bit and I may do the same to the other later on, but yeah. So using a ruler, the outline of a bowl, and a sharpie I made my pentagram shirt! I think it's so funny because the combination of the bright colors and the satanic reference so it will most likely become a big part of my wardrobe.

Besides the shirt this pretty simple look included:
DKNYC leggings / Minnetonka Moccasin knee highs / lace bralette from Pacsun / DIY tooth necklace / peace sign rosary from Macys

I hope you enjoyed this very late posted look! xo

Oh sweet coachella...

So although there was never any chance that I could have gone to Coachella I was very inspired by the style posts about it... So I did a look for about what I would have worn if i was there!

I'm very into the boho/beachy look which includes: fringe, cropped tops, jewelry, moccasins, light & neutral colors, and maxi clothing.

My look for coachella would have included shorts I'd shred myself, bright nails, moccasins, and layers! What would you wear?! Hope you enjoyed this post! xo

Throw on your boyfriends tee and just be happy!

Almost immediately after I posted my wish list blog saying that I wanted a misfits shirt my boyfriend told me that he had an old one i could have. Am I the luckiest girl ever or what?!

I really like this outfit because I don't wear full on black much but I felt like the combination was intriguing enough to wear with the little pops of white and stone in it!

Misfits band tee / black thrifted leather vest / DKNY leggings / white converse / black thrifted rosary / green target stone necklace

I also really like to smirk I guess... Well I hope you enjoyed this post! xo

Would you like to go on a date with me?

Yesterday I went thrifting with a friend of mine who shall not be named, but she's adorable. She told me that she loved my style blog (aw how cute! maybe I'll post more knowing someone actually reads it! Ahem!) and that she needed help throwing together for a kind of sort of date with a very attractive young man.

I told her that she would want to wear something somewhat casual so it doesn't look like she's trying too hard to make herself dolled up but of course it should be cute.

I sent her off in an outfit that looked similar to this with the dress a little bit less fancy. The big thing about picking out a date for an outfit though is that it should reflect who you are, not what your mom or friends thinks that you should be, but who you are. With your clothing it shows a lot about yourself and if you're showing them someone else then you might as well be wearing a Halloween costume.

My advice for dressing to a not-so-formal date is to think of yourself on your best day. What do you look like? Now be that person!

Hope you enjoyed this post! xo

Gimme gimme gimme everything I want

Since I like to be honest on here I'll say that I've acquired just about everything from my last "wish list" post that I truly believed I'd wear or at least something close so of course i decided to make a new one.

I need to get ready for summer because I plan for this to be the best summer ever since it's my last one where I'm sort of in high school and I plan to look cute every single day this summer.

From left to right (mostly general products and not specifics): flowy floral skirts / brown Minnetonka Moccasins since mine were stolen by my oh so loving cousin / sparkly nailpolish / tribal scarves / feather headband or necklace thing (i'll probably end up making my own in an attempt to save money) / burnt orange knitted cardigan / flowy bright hippie shirts / semi-cropped colored sheer tanks / cat tapestry Jeffrey Campbell damsel's / aviator sunglasses

What kind of stuff are you guys looking to buy?! Hope you enjoyed this post! xo

If prom's your thing then this is for you

i know that a lot of my readers are teenagers and are probably still going to school and i know that a lot of teenagers go to prom at least once in their life so i figured i'd write one about what you could wear to prom!

there are lots of different ways that you can go when it comes to prom dresses.

From left to right:
  • there is a black, short,  slightly patterned, and bedazzled dress to go with a jewel statement ring, and a bright pop of color for the shoes.
  • a slight mullet red dress to go with cheetah print wedges (i'm obsessed with red & cheetah together) and some simple black jewel earrings.
  • it's a long, green and yellow, patterned and lightly bedazzled dress with plain black heels and a simple thick bracelet that matches the light colors in the dress.
I'd give the specific brands on these but most are extremely expensive and are basically just ideas for what you could pair together. I hope this helps if you were looking for help and you enjoyed this post! xo

I like to repeat myself I guess

So this is going to be a little bit less of a picture blog post and more of a typing thing so prepare yourself! I went to a concert on Saturday evening, and I'm never completely sure of how to put bands into specific genres so I looked it up and I mainly went to see the bands Sleeping With Sirens, Conditions, and Secrets which are all listed under the genre of "hardcore", so take that as you may. While there I saw a lot of trends that I didn't find appealing to my own eyes and I was wondering what you guys thought about that. I also thought I'd just give you a little do/don't list for smaller, crowded, and non ventilated venues.

look 1:
Now this is a little bit less extreme than what I was seeing but it was something along the lines of this very graphic, very dark or very neon, and overly just childish look. A lot of the girls that I would see in line with this attire would later be seen without their shirt on and just a bra, or with their shirt pulled up to reveal their belly buttons. Generally this is called the "scene" look, which I thought died a long time ago but apparently not. So my question is, do you like this look and why or why not?

look 2:
This is another thing that i was seeing a lot of, and don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a tasteful body con dress... When you wear it correctly. If you, your friends, or the people around you are worried about your boobs or your vagina hanging out then that's a problem. And let me just say that there is a time and place for this look, but I would not recommend it for a concert where there will certainly be pushing and people pressed up against you unless you stand by the bar all night.

look 3:
I couldn't find any photos of this look, but it was a "layered lace" look where they would be wearing a lace top with a lace skirt, or a lace skirt and tights or whatever it was. I personally find that to be so extremely hard on the eyes and obnoxious looking, but if you like that then please speak up and tell me why and how you would wear it!

now to the do's and don'ts:

do: Wear something you feel physically comfortable in
Unless you have been in heels since the day you were born wear flats
If you are carrying any sort of bag bring a light sweater in your purse for after
A pony for if you get sweaty
Light make-up that will not smear if it gets wet

don't:
Sleeveless clothing
Short dresses/skirts
Anything you feel warm in while just standing outside
Open toed shoes

I just felt the need to point this stuff out and ask if these are truly appealing looks in humanity, sorry if you are offended but it's an opinion. Hope you enjoyed this post! xo

I wear my harley shirt when I ride around in a tiny red car

These were just some quick shots that olivia took of me before we went on a very serious shopping spree where I got some stuff that I seriously love and there will be a photo included at the end to show those things.

This was me just trying to move around so I wasn't standing in a huge pile of dirt and dead leaves.

Please try to ignore my icky nails, because they need to be done.

Harley Davidson thrifted tank top / Forever 21 high waisted shorts / brown flower tie belt / American Apparel over the knee socks / Minnetonka Moccasin tan knee highs /orange crystal necklace / faux rock necklace

Here's the things that I bought! (left to right)

Just one of the girls

So this was from one of my last few days working at buffalo exchange and as I said in my last post I wasn't able to post the photo for a while because of computer problems, but here you go!

Very soon after buying this skirt I actually cut out the inside skirt that worked as a slip so that I can have a sheer skirt to wear with my black granny panties i'm pretending are bloomers or with the slip under.

This outfit didn't take a lot of effort or accessories to make it successful. It was also very charming yet comfortable which i love!

black guns and roses crop top / black leather vest / Forever 21 salmon colored maxi skirt / Soda black faux TOMS / everyday rings / Revlon fire & ice lipstick

I hope you enjoyed this look, and I'll be posting a lot more very soon! xo

The littlest of bits & pieces

So I know that I've been like seriously lacking on updates lately & I'm really really sorry and I swear that I've been meaning to update but things have been hectic. I've been trading computers and my new one doesn't let the photos from my camera upload, I finished up my temp job at Buffalo Exchange, I was figuring out things with friends and my boyfriend, and I had finals. hoofta! But I'm free now and I will certainly but be posting more (:

For now here's two random outfits that I managed to get a few photos of that I thought I'd share for just abbie's "normal (yet quite abnormal), going to school or shopping" looks.

So I don't show it very much here but i am honestly so excited to own this shirt now! It's an Odd Future shirt that my boyfriend got me from his work and it has two of my favorite things. Cats, and good music!

Because I like to pair one odd thing with an even odder thing I added my light colored floral leggings from Hollister! Isn't that weird that these are from Hollister? I love them, they're totally comfy, and aren't see-through at all!

This is a photo of me from before I went to my last day of work. I paired my Harley Davidson tank, with a paisley/floral scarf, mala, leggings, turquoise socks, and brown fringe moccasins.

I hope you liked these very casual looks and I will be updating much more soon! xo

The outfit I'd love to lounge in until the day I die.

I was so busy and immersed in beautiful clothes this weekend because I had the lovely opportunity to work at my favorite store, Buffalo Exchange. I was only a temp but I believe I'll be working there this summer. I saw so much stuff that I just wanted to buy right on the spot but I'm attempting to only spend like half my paycheck on clothes.

There was one couple in particular that truly inspired me on St. Patricks day. The boy wasn't quite as festive as the girl was but the lady was absolutely beautiful and made me want to buy a sheer maxi skirt right that second so of course I created the perfect outfit for myself.

Tylie Malibu drawstring bag / Just Cruizin crop top / Asos Ablaze super high wedges / Motel Rocks Eylure eyelashes / black double split sheer skirt

So whoever wants to buy me this outfit or an outfit extremely similar you're welcome to do that right away!

May the force of style be with you

This is me on the most beautiful day in March that i will probably ever see! This Winter was pretty short of snow but the sun was seriously shining that day!

It was so nice out that I decided to take my dog to the dog park with a very cute boy and enjoy the slobber, sun, and conversation in some of my favorite thrift store finds.

Star Wars shirt / Harley Davidson DIY torn up high waisted shorts /Urban Outfitters over the knee socks / light tan Minnetonka Moccasins / DIY tooth & crystal necklace / black rosary / feather extension made by me (wanna buy one?!) / slave bracelet made by me (wanna buy one?!) / Zumiez sunglasses

The Buddhist slave bracelet was made by me along with the feather hair extension. I'm making them both to order for anyone that is interested so if you'd like one you can get hold of me on any of my social networking sites as well as in the comments on here!

I hope the weather has been as nice for you all as it has been for me and that you enjoyed reading this! xo

Oh, if only wishes came true

i haven't been taking photos of my outfits much lately so i decided that i'd do a general sort of wish list! i'll be posting up photos of the outfit i'm wearing today very soon though!

Some of these things are very specific but mainly are just general ideas of things that I'd like so here it goes:
light colored over the knee socks (preferably thick holes) / floral bustiers / tan or grey knit hats / misfits shirt / flowy floral shirts / black & white oxfords / black floppy hat / neutral colored flowy tops / billabong wide leg pants

If you know where I can find any of these things besides the misfits shirt and billabong pants or you can think of a great outfit that would go with one of these then you can comment bellow! I hope you enjoyed this! xo
